Welcome Days 2026 in Padua: the city welcomes international students

September in Padua means a return to classes, new beginnings, and many students ready to experience the city for the first time. For those arriving from abroad, the University of Padua is also organizing the following events this year: Welcome Days, a program of events dedicated to international students and those participating in mobility programs.

The Welcome Days of the first semester of the 2026/2027 academic year take place from September 8 to October 4, 2026 and involve, among others, Erasmus+ students, participants in international mobility programmes and students from partner universities.

Help for starting university life in Padua

Arriving in a new city to study means having to quickly learn how everything works: university, classes, services, transportation, and daily life.

To facilitate this initial period, the University of Padua has organized informational meetings and social gatherings.

The first meetings in September focused on teaching tools, arrival procedures, University services, and opportunities offered by the University Language Center. Meetings with the various Schools and Departments are scheduled for September 14th to 18th.

Welcome Fair on September 24th at Parco della Musica

One of the most anticipated events will be the Welcome Fair, scheduled Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Parco della Musica, in Via del Pescarotto, Padua.

An evening designed to allow newly arrived students to meet young people from all over the world and get to know the Padua university community.

During the Welcome Fair, there will be informational and interactive stands dedicated to sports, music, culture, and various services useful for the university experience. ESN (Erasmus Student Network) volunteers will also be involved.

In case of bad weather, the Welcome Fair will be postponed to September 28, 2026.

Discovering Padua

Welcome Days don't stop at the University.

To help international students get to know their new city, there are also guided tours of Padua, organized in collaboration with ESN Padova.

Visits are scheduled for September 19, 20, 26, and 27, and October 3, 4, and 10, 2026 and represent an opportunity to discover some of the most interesting corners of the city and, at the same time, meet other students.

There are also opportunities to visit symbolic places of the University, such as Bo Palace, and some university museums.

New students, new life in Padua

The Welcome Days symbolically mark the beginning of a new university year and, for thousands of students, also the start of a new life in Padua.

And among the first things to organize when you move to study is naturally the house.

Finding a student-friendly apartment, ideally well-connected to the university campuses and ready to move into, allows you to face your first few weeks in the city with greater peace of mind.
